Meade Autostar Suite including LPI Imager
Autostar Suite: Meade's new software package includes powerful tools to help you get the most from your Meade telescope: included planetarum program has over 19-million objects, automatically slews a telescope to the desired object selected on the computer screen, control all Autostar functions from your computer, software translates Autostar text to synthesized speech through the computer speaker, automatic point-and-click Autostar tour creations, remote telescope control over the internet, and includes cables to connect your Autostar-equiped telescope to a computer.
LPI Imager: The new Lunar, Planetary Imager (LPI) combines the power of an electronic astronomical imager/autoguider with the simplicity of a webcam. It is easy to operate and fun to use, providing real-time images on a computer screen of prominent crowd pleasers like Moon craters, planetary surface phenomenon, brighter deep space objects and interesting terrestrial detail. The LPI is a sophisticated imager with Magic Eye software-assisted focusing, automatic and manual exposure control, automatic multiple exposures, automatic selection of best images, automatic aligment of multiple images and stacks them into one superior image, and also functions as an autoguider for long-exposure astro-images.
ScopeTronix Flexi-Focus™
This unique product solves two common ETX problems! It allows you to focus without the jitters and allows you to easily reach the focus knob even when the OTA is parallel with the forks! Since the newer ETX EC/AT operates in Alt-Az mode there is a very large portion of the sky overhead where it can be difficult to reach the focus knob when viewing. Don't let its extreme flexibility worry you, focus control remains fine and crisp with no backlash or rubbery feeling, the flexible shaft is extremely rigid on its rotational axis and provides excellent focus control. Installs in seconds with the included wrench. No jitters, easy access even with the OTA vertical, fine control, and all at a fraction of the cost of an electric focuser! This is the original ETX Flexible Focuser, thousands sold to satisfied customers since 1997! Beware of cheap imitations that use plastic knobs and cheap stiff cables. We use cnc machined solid aluminum knurled knobs and the finest quality rubber coated spring steel cable available so you can be assured of easy crisp focusing action with a minimum of transmitted vibration.
SmartAstronomy's SmartCase
SmartAstronomy's Smartcase is designed to protect the Autostar controller keypad from dirt, dust, and moisture from dew. Microscopic dust and dirt will find its way inside your Autostar controller causing the keypad to have slow response or no response. Moisture from dew also becomes a major factor in keypad commands. Damage of the controller housing and circuts from accidental falls can also occur. The Goto telescope depends on the commands sent from the AutoStar Keypad. If the Autostar controller doesn't work, neither will your telescope! The SmartCase is fully padded for protection against impact and all materials are waterproof to protect against moisture from dew. The transparent front allows the display to read easily, and maintains the feel of the keypad in all temperatures. The SmartCase fits Autostar models #494,495,497 for use with all Meade LX series scopes, ETX scopes, and LXD55 scopes.
ScopeTronix Field Doubler and Visual Back
A ScopeTronix exclusive, this field doubler attaches to the back of your ETX-90/105/125 or NexStar 4 and effectively shortens the focal ratio of your telescope to f/7. This system will provide wider fields of view for your CCD imager or webcam while also reducing your exposure times. Now you can image more of the Moon or that large star cluster or galaxy. The Field Doubler is designed to allow for a wider field CCD imaging, it is not designed for visual use and the ETX will not reach focus if a diagonal is inserted into it. We also offer this unit without optics to provide the user a Visual Back for their ETX-90/105/125 or NexStar 4. Now you can image or photograph straight through the telescope. These are great new accessories to make your scope even more fun to use.

Customer Quotes

"I just received the MaxView™ 40 I ordered earlier this week. I am using it with an ETX-90 and Sony DSC-F707 digital camera. I am blown away with the quality of this eyepiece. Here's a shot of the Moon taken with the MaxView™ 40. Great eyepiece, I recommend it to anyone who is in the market for a good eyepiece to use with their digital camera. Thanks for the great service as well."
